Still better than waiting for Facilities to fix it

The local school district where this pilot fish works has two groups of techs who work on in-school devices: the computer techs, who work on PCs and mobile, and the multimedia techs, who work on smart whiteboards and other "interactive media."

"I'm a field tech who works on the computers and mobile devices," fish says. "I was stopped by an end user because his Smart Board lost connection to the computer. I went to take a look.

"Not only was the range waaay too long for the USB cable to have a reliable connection, but I also saw this pile of chain wrapped around the post to the projector.

"I asked the end user what the deal was. He said the projector used to vibrate when the heating or air conditioning kicked on. That's how the multimedia techs solved the problem!"
