It's the famous 'Can't Bother to Look it Up' virus

IT tech pilot fish gets a call from the senior systems analyst, who's in charge of servers, group policy and the domain.

"He had a virus a while ago and was having some trouble with his computer," fish says. "I didn't think too much of it, other than I was annoyed that he runs with domain admin rights and catches viruses.

"But he was backing up his data in preparation for wiping and reloading his Windows 7 64-bit OS. Did I have a disk that he could use to install it?

"I brought him the disk and asked what kinds of problems he was still having with his computer. He said that no matter what he did, he couldn't get the Windows firewall to turn on and he thought it was related to the virus.

"This guy has worked here for almost two years and is in charge of group policy, but I still had to tell him that the group policy applied to his workstation disables the Windows firewall.

"Shouldn't he know that by now?"
