Vaughn Stewart is the director of cloud computing at NetApp, Inc.
Vaughn helps set strategic direction and blends a passion for emerging technologies with an enthusiasm for engaging the IT industry. He's written a number of technical reports and white papers, has a patent pending for VMware-snapshot-based backups, and has held industry certifications from Brocade, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, NetApp, Sun Microsystems, and VMware. For his work in cloud computing, Vaughn has been recognized by VMware as a vExpert every year since the program’s inception in 2009. He represents NetApp in the Open Virtualization Alliance and is a frequent presenter at leading technical conferences.
Vaughn previously held professional services, consulting, and systems-engineering positions, as well as managing NetApp's technical alliance with VMware. He shares his thoughts on the role of storage in cloud computing and big data on his blog, 'The Virtual Storage Guy’ and has authored a number of books including his latest, "Virtualization Changes Everything: Storage Strategies for VMware vSphere & Cloud Computing."
