Has Google's Nexus 4 sold out again? It certainly looks that way, but with the unexpected instability of Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) cloud-based Play Store, it's hard to tell.
In IT Blogwatch, bloggers compare notes to crowdsource the truth.

Jared Newman recently had this good news for the patient faithful:
Google appears to have...Nexus 4 supplies now, and will resume selling the unlocked Android smartphone. ... [It] went on sale November 13, but sold out of its initial stock within minutes.
...So far, it has been a rocky launch for all of Google's new Nexus devices. ... Google hasn't disclosed sales figures...so it's unclear whether the company was simply overwhelmed by demand, or had other supply issues. ...perhaps the idea of pure Android hardware, sold at competitive prices, is starting to catch on. But Cory Gunther pours cold water on any celebrations:
[Google] put their LG Nexus 4 smartphone up for sale...for the second time in two weeks, and it sold out...as fast as the first round. ... The Play Store became almost unusable...as it was experiencing a heavy load.
...Google updated their shipping estimates...8 to 9 weeks for the 8GB Nexus 4. Seriously? Two months or more? ... Google and LG apparently are having some serious trouble keeping up with the demand. ... Sadly this is most likely an inventory problem more than anything. MORE
JR Raphael calls it a "lost opportunity":
...diehard fans who staked out the Google Play Store on the phone's launch day are still waiting. ... Even if you managed to get a Nexus 4 in your shopping cart, the site would repeatedly hiccup and give you errors. ... That level of barely-usable business went on much of the day. ...countless people have had needlessly frustrating experiences.
...If anyone should be able to handle a high-traffic situation...it's Google. ... We're in the midst of the busiest shopping days of the year, and no one can place an order. ...if the company doesn't get its act together soon, there's no telling how much opportunity it could miss. MORE
And self-confessed fandroid, Paul Chiu, is disbelieving:
I can't believe how much Google botched all this. ... Why do the Google servers have problems with heavy load? I thought that this was their speciality? MORE
Meanwhile, Evan Niu sees the bigger picture:
Inventory quickly sold out. ... Google Play is now quoting seven- to eight-week shipping times on new orders. ...there is a debate raging as to whether Apple remains a buy. MORE
