Good news, Android owners: It looks like another device is about to get the sweet taste of Froyo.

MyTouch 3G Froyo

Customer service reps at T-Mobile are now confirming that the Android 2.2 upgrade is set to roll out to the original MyTouch 3G starting today, October 13. According to T-Mobile, the rollout will take about three weeks to complete, with all MyTouch 3G owners expected to have Froyo on their phones by the 25th.

Word of the MyTouch 3G Froyo rollout first hit the Web on Tuesday. Unofficial T-Mobile blog TmoNews published what appears to be a leaked internal screenshot detailing T-Mobile's plans.

As TmoNews initially reported, the update will be sent in two parts due to its large size. When the software is available for your phone, a notification will pop up on your screen prompting you to begin the downloads. The update will automatically install once the downloads have completed.

One important footnote: This rollout is only for the original MyTouch 3G. T-Mobile representatives say work is still underway on the Android 2.2 upgrade for the other MyTouch models, including the MyTouch 3G Slide and the MyTouch Fender Limited Edition.

Remember, you can find the latest Froyo status for any device at our Android 2.2 upgrade list. It's regularly updated as new information becomes available.
